Haze Fax sends and receives documents on your behalf. Those documents are usually the most sensitive thing anybody hands us, so this page says plainly what we hold, who else touches it, and how to make it go away. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we hold
- Your account. An email address, a password we never see in plain text, and the name you gave your workspace.
- Your documents. Every fax you send or receive is stored as a PDF so you can open it again and prove it arrived. We do not read them, and nothing about their contents is indexed, analysed, or used to train anything.
- Fax records. The numbers a fax went to or came from, when it was sent, how many pages it was, and whether it was delivered. This is the receipt, and it is the reason to use a fax at all.
- Your numbers and contacts. The fax numbers on your account, and any names, numbers, organisations and notes you save.
- Signing evidence. When you send a document to be signed we store the signer’s name, their email address if you gave one, the signature they drew or typed, and the IP address and browser they signed from. That evidence is what makes a signature something you can stand behind later.
- Payment status. Which plan you are on and whether it is paid. We never see or store a card number. Cards are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Ordinary server logs. IP addresses and request records, kept briefly, used to keep the service up and to investigate abuse.
Who else touches it
Running a fax service means handing parts of it to other companies. These four, and no others:
- Telnyx carries the fax. A document being sent or received passes through them, because that is what putting it on the telephone network requires.
- Supabase stores the account and the fax records.
- Cloudflare R2 stores the documents themselves. They are private objects; every time one is opened it is through a link that expires within fifteen minutes.
- Stripe takes the payments and holds the card.
We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not give it to anyone else unless the law requires it. If we are ever compelled to hand something over, we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so.
Health information
Fax is used heavily in healthcare, so this needs saying rather than leaving to be assumed: Haze Fax is not offered as a HIPAA-compliant service, and we do not currently enter into Business Associate Agreements. If you are a covered entity and your use would put protected health information through this service, it is not the right tool for that use yet. Write to us if that matters to you.
How long we keep it
Faxes and their receipts stay until you delete them or delete your account, because a record you cannot produce two years later is not a record. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
Deleting everything
Settings has a Close this account section. It asks you to type your workspace name, and then it destroys the workspace: every fax, every stored document, every receipt, your contacts, your signing history, your numbers, and this login. Your subscription is cancelled at the same time. It happens immediately, and afterwards there is no way for us to hand any of it back to you. Download anything you need first.
You can also write to info@hazefax.com and ask us to do it, or ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
Children
Haze Fax is a business tool and is not intended for anybody under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from children.
Where this applies
The service is operated from the United States, and information is stored and processed there. If you use it from elsewhere, that is where your information goes.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing the date at the top.
